The project is a Finmeccanica initiative started in April 2006, after the signature of a CINI-Finmeccanica Framework Agreement. The project concerns the creation of public-private laboratories in the field of software research.
They have been undersigned various contracts between CINI (National Intercollegiate Consortium for the computer science) and SESM. The CINI Research Units of Federico II University, Rome Sapienza, Florence, Genoa are involved. On the industrial side Galileo Avionica, SELEX Sistemi Integrati, Elsag Datamat are involved.
In October 2007 the new laboratory “High Performance GNU/Linux” (collaboration with Rome Tor Vergata and Pavia Universities) has been added, funded by MBDA.
